On Thursday, repair shops were flooded with customers. Binswanger Glass repair shop figures they’ll replace about 50 windshields a day, that were damaged by the golf-ball sized hail. “I would anticipate we’re going to be busy for the next couple of weeks,” said Scott Finley, Branch Manager for Binswanger Glass.

Increasing public recognition of the importance of a particular service; steering; dealing with OEM parts; and working with insurers-these are all topics of concern to many in the auto glass industry. With many different types to choose from , a home owner can choose what’s best for them. Try finding a film that will block u.v. rays, allowing light  in but keeping heat out. “The stain glass windows weren’t straight anymore. They were starting to bowl, and the lead was coming apart, stretching,” said Earl Dudnik of Flash Glass, the company that has been repairing the windows

“Because a layer of laminate is fused to the windshield glass, it’s more difficult to recycle,” reads the newsletter. “That can make the area around the windshield more prone to leaks, which can lead to additional problems.”

Last week someone defaced 21 glass panels. Tuesday they scratched fourteen more at seven sites. Some of the tagging went over last week’s etchings, like someone’s marking territory. The damage estimate is adding up for taxpayers.
